MANY CREW CHANGES

Improvement in Form Shown.--Newhall Back in First Boat.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Yesterday afternoon changes were made in all three University crews. D. A. Newhall '06, who reported Tuesday, went into the University boat at number 2. Last spring he rowed 4 in the Yale race. Tappan, who had been at 2 on the University crew, and who rowed there last year, went to the same position on the second. Kellogg who had been at 2 in the second boat did not row yesterday. Gill who had been rowing number 3 in the four-oar, was changed to 7 on the University second crew, Corbett was moved from 7 to 5, and Montgomery who had been at 5 went in at 3 in the four-oar. There was also a change on the port side of the second boat. Fish and Richards changed places, rowing at 4 and 6 respectively, and as Warren did not report Corlett rowed 3. Three men were dropped from the squad.

The three crews rowed upstream as far as the Brighton bridge and back in short stretches, while Wray coached from the "John Harvard." The boat was steady, but did not space as well as previously between strokes. The men caught the water with vigor and handled their blades in good form. In the second boat the men did not follow the stroke as well as usual, but were strong on the finish. The four-oar crew rowed very smoothly.

The orders:

University crew--Stroke, Filley; 7, Guild; 6, R. L. Bacon; 5, Richardson; 4, Glass; 3, Emmons; 2, Newhall; bow, Flint; cox., Blagden.

Second crew--Stroke, Morgan; 7, Gill; 6, Richards; 5, Corbett; 4, Fish; 3, Corlett; 2, Tappan; bow, Wiggins; cox., Arnold.

Four-oar crew--Stroke, Ball; 3, Montgomery; 2, G. Bacon; bow, Simmons; cox., Whitney.
