The first trials to select the Freshman team to debate against Exeter will be held on Friday evening at 7.30 o'clock in Upper Dane. Each man will speak five minutes on either side of the question, "Resolved, That the labor union principle of the closed shop is justifiable and should be supported." It is planned to retain six men at the trial, who will be divided by lot into two teams to debate in the final trial on Tuesday, March 20; but if a sufficient number of promising candidates they for the team, 23 men will be retained and there will be three trials. A Tulin 3L will coach the team.
The debate will be held at Exeter, and the judges will be: W. M. Schohl 1L., G. J. Hirsch '07, and A. Tulin 3L. The date will be announced later.
