The Chi Psi' fraternity chapter house at Cornell was totally, destroyed by fire yesterday morning. Three undergraduates lost their lives, and many were seriously burned. One student, after having escaped from the burning house, re-entered the building in order to rescue his room-mate, and was so severely burned that he died soon afterwards. The fire was discovered at 4 o'clock and was beyond control before any fire apparatus was at hand. Three of the volunteer firemen were killed by a falling wall.
The chapter house, which was one of the most beautiful in the country, was valued at $150,000 and is a total loss.
