The basketball squad was increased to 93 men last night, making the largest squad which has ever come out for this sport in the University. The work in practice was spirited and showed a great improvement over that of the night before. There was very little preliminary work, nearly all the time being spent in scrimmages. The Junior team, which appears to be the furthest developed at the present time, tried a system of signals for plays from the toss up and worked them with fair success.
The Freshman squad, which now numbers 32 men, was coached by P. Brooks '09, and E. L. Burnham '07 of the University team. The work was good on the whole, although there was some poor shooting.
