The Filley cups were presented to the Claverly crew last night in the Claverly Hall Common Room, where several members of the University crew squad, members of all the dormitory crews that competed in the bumping races, and the men living in Claverly were the guests of Professor W. H. Schofield.
Professor Schofield spoke briefly of the excellent spirit displayed throughout the races this fall and expressed a sincere hope that the good fellowship and clean sport which prevailed among the various dormitories would be even more firmly established in future years.
In presenting the cups to the Claverly crew, B. A. G. Fuller '00, the donor, said in part, that it was his wish that they might further that spirit of historic continuity which would be such a welcome addition to the traditions here at Cambridge.
In behalf of the Claverly crew, S. P. Fay '07 received the cups. One of them is a perpetual challenge cup, to be competed for each year; the other was wonoutright this fall by Claverly.
