At a meeting of the University Debating Council, it was decided to open the debate with Yale, which will be field in Sanders Theatre this fall, to the University, instead of charging an admission fee as heretofore.
The funds needed to carry on debating work, which, in the past, have been obtained from the receipts at the University debates, will be secured this year by subscription from members of the University. The subscription will be conducted on a uniform plan of $1 contributions, which will be collected in a dormitory canvass by candidates for the position of debating manager. This position will hereafter be a competitive office. All men from the Junior class wishing to try for the position should report in Upper Dane this evening at 7.30 o'clock to D. Rosenblum '08, recently elected debating manager for the year.
