The bumping races for the dormitory crews will be held Thursday, Friday and Saturday of this week. The races will be rowed upstream, starting at the Boylston street bridge. This year the crews will be divided on merit, into two divisions, by a committee composed of Captain Bacon, Coaches Vail and Stephenson, R. H. Wiswall '07 and G. W. Bailey '07, who have charge of the dormitory crews at the two boat clubs. Each division will have a separate race, the first division starting at 3.30, and the second division as soon after as possible. The positions of the crews at the start will be determined by lot and the boats will start 90 feet apart.
Practically the same rules will be enforced this year as last. Members of the University squad, who will be posted along the bank, will act as judges, and will fire a pistol when a bump is made. When one crew bumps another, both crews will pull out to the side as quickly as possible. These rules are subject to change.
