The Senior baseball team defeated the Juniors yesterday afternoon in a fast and exciting game by the score of 8 to 4.
Errors by the Juniors at critical times and Taylor's wildness in the eighth inning figured materially in the result. Except in that inning he was very effective, striking out 13 men and allowing but three hits. The Seniors scored their first run-in the second inning. Snyder was hit by a pitched ball, stole second, and scored on an error by Nesmith. Neither side scored again until the eighth, when Sperry, for the Juniors, reached first on Marean's error, Hellman made a hit, Leonard got his base on balls and four runs were scored on Nesmith's home run. In their half of the eighth inning the Seniors-scored seven runs on three hits, two bases on balls, two errors and a hit batsman.
For the Seniors, Hinckley and Tuckerman both made brilliant catches of difficult flies. Marean, who played an excellent game, is an experienced player, having caught on the 1903 Freshman, Junior and Senior class teams.
The summary: The Freshman-Sophomore game will be played this afternoon at 4 o'clock on the Freshman diamond, Soldiers Field. The final game of the interclass series will probably be played Monday The batting order:
