The first round of match play in the tournament for the individual golf championship of the University being held at the Oakley Country Club was played off yesterday afternoon, the matches resulting as follows: F. Ingalls 1L. defeated W. Hickox, Jr., '08, 3 up and 1 to play; W. F. Harrison '06 defeated M. McBurney '06, 1 up in 19 holes; A. L. White '06 defeated A. C. Travis '05, 4 up and 2 to play; F. H. Ellis '06 defeated P. Grant, 2nd., '08, 7 up and 5 to play.
The pairings for the semi-final round today are: Ingalls vs. Harrison and White vs. Ellis. Matches not begun by 3.30 o'clock or those in which stymies are not played will be considered defaulted.
