1908 Won Baseball with Pomfret

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

At Pomfret Saturday the Freshman baseball team defeated Pomfret School by the score of 20 to 3 in an uninteresting game. The large score made by the Freshmen was due to the poor pitching of Gilbert of Pomfret and to the general loose playing of the Pomfret team. The Freshmen batted well and showed good judgment in placing their hits.

As usual, their base-running was stupid. Pomfret's three runs were made on an error by Waters with the bases full. Lincoln pitched a steady game for the Freshmen, and kept the hits well scattered.

The score by innings: Innings,  1  2  3  4  5  6  7  8  9 r.  h.  e. Harvard '08,  0  0  7  4  0  6  1  0  2--20  24  3 Pomfret,  0  0  0  0  3  0  0  0  0--3  9  7
