Rev. Endicott Peabody, D. D., h.'04, rector of Groton School, will deliver the fourth of the series of lectures on the professions this evening at 8 o'clock in the living Room of the Union. His subject will be "Teaching."
Although born in Salem, Dr. Peabody received his education in England, graduating from Cheltenham College, and subsequently studying law at Trinity College, Cambridge. Upon returning to America, he engaged for a short time in the banking business in Boston, but soon entered the Cambridge Episcopal Theological School to prepare for the ministry. After graduating in 1884, he spent six months as a missionary at Tombstone, Arizona, and the following year founded Groton School. He as awarded an honorary degree of D.D. last Commencement Day.
