The Sophomore won the interclass lacrosse championship Saturday afternoon by defeating the Juniors in the final game of the series by the score of 4 to 0. The victory of the Sophomore was due to their superior team play and strong defense. The Juniors were unable to stop the concerted attack of their opponents and were particularly weak at goal. their passing was inaccurate.
In the first half three goals were scored. In the second half the sophomores were forced to play a defensive game, but they scored once on a long shot by Stoddard. The best individual work of the game was done by Wendell, who frequently made brilliant runs and showed good judgment both on the attack and the defense. For the Juniors, summers and Mendel played well. Wendell, Ackerman and Tucker played a strong game for the Sophomores.
All the men who played on the Sophomore team in either this game or that with the Freshmen will receive class lacrosse numerals, and the following regular members of the 1907 team will receive the individual cups given by the Suffolk Lacrosse Club: Tucker, Beale, Marsters, Comey, Hirsch, Kempner, Prizer, Wendell, Robinson, Ackerman, Stoddard and Dole.
