PLANS FOR SPRING GOLF WORK

Prospects for a strong golf team this spring are good. All but one member of the University team which won the intercollegiate championship last fall will be able to play, and there is an abundance of other good material.

Arrangements have been made with the Brookline Country Club and the Oakley Golf Club by which candidates for the team are allowed the use of their courses for spring practice. The following men may play at the Brookline Country Club: M. McBurney '06, A. L. White '06, P. A. Proal '06, W. F. Harrison '06, E. Wilder '07, A. C. Travis '05, P. Gilbert '08, L. Gourlay '04, F. H. Ellis '06, J. O. Safford '05. The following men may play at the Oakley Golf Club: F. Ingalls 1L., P. Grant '08, F. W. Cloud '05, J. J. Rowe '07, S. Plummer 1L., W. Hickox '08, J. E. Searle '08. All men desiring to try for either the University or the class teams who have not already handed in their names should notify M. McBurney '06, Claverly 26.

The matches for the University championship will be played over the Oakley Golf Club course during the third week in May. An entrance fee of $1 will be charged and medals will be awarded to the winner and the runner-up. The interclass matches will be played on May 18 and 19 over the Brookline Country Club course. Members of the University team will be eligible to play on their class team.

A schedule of matches has been arranged for the University team, mainly for the purpose of trying out new material and selecting the team to compete in the annual intercollegiate tournament, which will be held at the Garden City Links, Long Island, during the third week in October. Besides those announced below, a match with Williams is being arranged which will probably be played on May 20. The schedule of team matches is as follows:

May 6.--Wannamoisett Golf Club, at Providence.

May 12.--Wollaston Golf Club, at Wollaston.

May 15.--Brookline Country Club, at Brookline.

May 17.--Fall River Golf Club, at Fall River.

May 30.--Massachusetts State Association, at Myopia.
