Professor C. R. Sanger '81, Director of the Chemical Laboratory, who sailed from New York on February 11, arrived in Havana on February 16.
Professor Sanger, who has been given leave of absence, is accompanied by his daughter, and by Mr. and Mrs. G. Sanger. He will probably not return before the middle of March.
During Professor Sanger's absence, Professor T. W. Richards '86 is acting director of the Chemical Laboratory, in addition to his regular position as chairman of the Department of Chemistry. Dr. G. P. Baxter '96 is taking the lectures in Chemistry 1. Dr. H. A. Torrey '96 has full charge of Chemistry 3, and Dr. R. C. Wells relieves Dr. Baxter by taking temporary charge of Chemistry 10.
