Fall Track Work

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

More than thirty additional men have joined the fall track squad since Monday, so that the total number of candidates is now one hundred and eleven. This is a very encouraging showing for the first few days, as many of last year's team have not yet reported. The Freshman class has already furnished some very promising material. The work at the present time is very light, consisting of one or two easy laps for the distance men, and for the dash men several short sprints. Work in practicing starts will begin today. The candidates for the cross country team will begin practice the first of next week. All the distance men are expected to report. The candidates will be divided into two squads, one for the faster men and another for those somewhat slower. The runs will be short at first--probably about two or three miles. This distance will gradually be increased.
