R. Abbott of Yale won the individual championship of the Intercollegiate Golf Association at Garden City on Saturday by defeating E. Knowles, also of Yale, in the final round of 36 holes match play by three up and two to play. At the completion of the morning round of 18 holes, Knowles was four-down, but at the fifth hold in the second round was only one down. However, Abbott retained his lead to the ninth hold and lost only one of the remaining holes.
