University Golf Team Defeated

In the first day's play in the team matches for the intercollegiate golf championship at Garden City, Long Island, the University team was defeated by Princeton by the score of 7 to 1 1-2. Yale easily beat Pennsylvania and Columbia by the scores of 18 to 0 and 21 to 0, and will thus meet Princeton in the finals today. None of the members of the University team except T. Briggs '09 played up to their best form, and were unsteady, especially in their short game.
