In the preliminary trials of the intercollegiate track games held yesterday on Franklin Field, Philadelphia, Yale qualified 15 men, Harvard 9, and the University of Pennsylvania 8.
No intercollegiate records were broken but most of the trials were very fast. Glass of Yale failed to qualify in the shot put, and Murphy of Harvard in the high jump. Schick easily won his heats in both the 100 and 220-yard dashes. Gring tied for first in the pole vault. De Witt of Princeton threw the hammer 160 ft., 7 in. Duffy competed in the 100 yard-dash and will run tomorrow.
