Thirty men played over the Country Club course yesterday afternoon in the qualifying round of 18 holes in the tournament for the individual golf championship of the University. F. Ingalls '04 and P. A. Proal '05 tied at 80 for the Silver medal for the best qualifying score, and the six other men who qualified were H. Davenport '04, 82; H. C. Egan '05, 82; W. C. Chick '05, 85; F. H. Ellis '06, 85; H. B. Hollins '04, 85; A. L. White '06, 85.
Ingalls and Proal will play off their tie for the qualifying medal by keeping their medal scores today in the first round of match play, the pairings for which are as follows: Ingalls vs. Chick, Davenport vs. Hollins, Proal vs. Ellis, Egan vs. White.
The semi-final and the final rounds will probably be played tomorrow and Friday. A gold medal will be awarded to the winner, and a silver medal to the runner up.
