The University fencing team leaves tonight for Ithaca on its first trip, which will include Cornell and West Point only. The team will meet Yale and Pennsylvania at Cambridge on March 4, but will have no opportunity to fence with Columbia or Annapolis until the final intercollegiate meet in New York on April 1 and 2. The present trip is therefore one of the two important events prior to the final meet. Cornell and West Point are the two strongest teams in the intercollegiate association; Bowman of Cornell has won several firsts in New York contests, and the West Point team has twice won the intercollegiate meet.
The University team will be composed of H. W. Holmes 1G., captain, A. Tyng '04, W. MacLeod '05, and L. W. Sumner '05, manager.
