In the last novice revolver shoot of the Rifle and Pistol Club H. Williams '06, won and with a score of 332 out of a possible 500. W. A. Taft '07, with 325, was second, and G. Mixter '08 was third, with 317. The novice rifle contest was won by W. A. Taft '07, with a score of 292 out of a possible 500; C. B. Whitney '07 was second with 287, and d. West '07, with 285, was third. third. The winners of each contest will receive bronze medals given by the club.
After the Christmas recess the club will hold a handicap shoot for rifles and revolvers, for which one prize in each contest will be awarded. The handicaps will be arranged on the basis of the results of the novice tournament just ended. After the completion of the handicap shoot a contest for rifles and revolvers will be held for the championship of the University.
All prospects of building the proposed range under the Stadium this year have been abandoned, not only because of the great expense of lighting and heating, but on account of the cost of erecting enough new shields to enclose the required space of 100 yards in length.
