The University football eleven in secret practice yesterday, after long preliminary work of the usual nature, lined up against the Freshman team for a 20-minute half, in which neither side scored. Sperry, for the University eleven, dropped back for a punt, but receiving the ball on a poor pass, he ran it in 16 yards, to the 25-yard line where he was downed by Apollonio. The University team then carried the ball down the field to the 8-yard line where Wendell fumbled and Mason fell on the ball for the Freshmen. Mason then gained 8 yards and Starr on a fake kick gained 10 yards more. Talbot punted 60 yards to Kernan, whom he tackled on the University 50-yard line. The Freshmen were forced back to their own 40-yard line, but held for downs. Before time was called, they had gained a distance of 20 yards.
