The Freshman football team was defeated by Exeter on Soldiers Field Saturday by a score of 11 to 0 in an interesting and hard-fought game. Although playing against a heavier team, the Freshmen displayed spirit and made a good showing. Exeter gained consistently outside of tackle and made several long gains on quarterback runs after a delayed pass. The Freshmen were unable to force their opponents' line until the second half and then only at times between tackle and guard. Throughout the game, their interference was slower in forming and less effective than Exeter's.

Starr at quarter ran his team well and made several good tackles in the backfield. Warren at right tackle also played a good game. O'Brien and Vaughan, the Exeter ends, were fast and reliable.

Exeter received the kick-off and, after a series of rushes through the line and a quarterback run of 30 yards, fumbled and regained the ball, Cooney going through for a touchdown on the play. Bankart kicked the goal. No further score was made until the last part of the second half, when, after a series of rushes, Hart carried the ball over for a second touchdown. Bankart missed the goal.
