The Athletic Committee has made an appropriation of $500 to have Mr. P. Pianelli come here next year and give instruction to the fencing team candidates. It is expected that he will begin his duties about the middle of October and stay with the men until the end of the fencing season in March. He will be with the men on Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons for three hours each day. Two hours each day will be spent in coaching novices, with the intention of giving each novice a lesson a week. H. W. Holmes '03, captain for next year, assisted by some of the better fencers, will conduct a novice class under the same plan as last year. Later in the year the matches for the class championship will be played. A squad of six men will be picked at the beginning of the year to form the University squad, instead of waiting until later in the season, as was done last year.
