GALES FERRY, June 4.--The Yale crew went out on the river at 5.45 o'clock this afternoon and rowed over a four-mile course. No official time was taken, but the stroke averaged about 29. The freshman crew went out at 4.30 o'clock and the four-oared at 5.30 o'clock. In the coaching of the freshmen especial care was directed toward getting the oars in the water quickly on the catch.
