BROWN GAME TODAY.

The University nine will play its second and final game with Brown this afternoon at Providence, R. I. The men will start from the Square at 10 o'clock this morning by a special car, and will take the 10.43 o'clock train from the South Station.

The first game with Brown, which was played on May 7 at Cambridge, was won by Harvard, 5 to 0, through superior work at the bat. Both Clarkson and Lynch Pitched effectively, the former, however, showing slight superiority.

The record of the Brown team this spring has been by far the best made by any of the smaller colleges. Excellent pitching supported by steady fielding has allowed the team to defeat many of the more important teams; while the batting, although unsteady, has at times proved most reliable. Brown has already won two out of three games from Yale, for, after losing the first game of the series by a score of 9 to 3, through unsteadiness in one inning, the team won the last two by scores of 4 to 3, and 7 to 0, respectively. Two games have been played with Princeton, the first of which was won, 2 to 0, and the second lost 6 to 1.

In tomorrow's game Coburn will pitch, Clarkson will be in left field, and Carr will again play at third base. The make-up of the Brown team has not yet been definitely decided. If Lynch does not pitch, he will play right field, and Hatch will be in the box, in his stead.

The practice of the University baseball squad yesterday consisted of the usual batting and fielding work under the direction of coach Wendell. No Freshmen have as yet been taken on the squad, but later a few will probably be selected, for whom a separate training table will be formed. HARVARD.  BROWN.
