Second Nine vs. Dean Today

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Second nine will play Dean Academy at Franklin this afternoon at 3 o'clock. A hard game is expected as Dean defeated the Second nine last year and is stronger this year than last, having already won from Exeter, Groton, and the Brown freshmen by large scores. Dean has this year been defeated by Tufts College and the Rindge Manual Training School.

Although the Second nine have not yet had a hard game to test their strength, they are apparently weak in batting and base-running, while the fielding is above the usual standard at this time of year. Hutchinson will pitch for the first time today.

The batting orders: SECOND NINE.  DEAN ACADEMY. Greenough, r.f.  s.s., McGraw Marshall, 2b.  p., Tatch Murphy, s.s.  3b., Pulsifer Fischel, 1b.  c., Higgins Blatterman, l.f.  c.f., Greene Bolton, 3b.  1b., Woodward Carpenter, c.f.  2b., Walker Parker, c.  l.f., Mains Hutchinson, p.  r.f., Clark
