Freshman Baseball with Groton.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Freshman baseball team will play Groton at Groton this afternoon. The work of the Freshmen during the past week has been rather discouraging as the team has shown but little improvement. In batting the men show a little better form, but still have a tendency to knock fly balls, and have not yet learned to time the ball well. Their bunting is fair. The fielding of the infield is marked by carelessness and the throwing is very inaccurate. In the outfield a little improvement is shown in judging fly balls and in getting throws off. R. J. Leonard has been elected captain.

The Groton team is rather undeveloped this year. Although they bat fairly well, their fielding is inaccurate and their base running poor.

The batting orders follow: FRESHMEN.  GROTON. Bradbury, s.s.  1b., Sturgis Grant, 3b.  s.s., Sawyer Leonard, 2b.  2b., Hinchman Newhall, l.f.  r.f., Crocker Nichols, 1b.  l.f., Higginson Spencer, c.f.  c.f., Sibley Quigley, c.  3b., Fay Castle, p.  c., Hoppin Sperry, r.f.  p., Rose
