Rev. H. R. Talbot '95 will give an informal talk on "American Life in Manila," in the Assembly Room of the Union this evening at 8 o'clock. Mr. Talbot is chaplain to the Right Rev. C. H. Brent, Bishop to the Philippines. Mr. Talbot will review briefly the political and social situation in the islands, and will describe some of the interesting characteristics of the Filipino. The daily life of an American in Manila and the needs to which the surrounding conditions give rise will, however, be the main theme. Mr. Talbot is much interested in the development of the islands and takes a very optimistic view of the influx of Americans, of whom there is now a colony of from 700 to 800 in the city of Manila.
