Second Nine Game With Groton.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Second nine will play Groton School at Groton, this afternoon at 2 o'clock. A close game is not expected, as the Groton team, though strong in fielding, is weak the batting and team work, and has lost most of the games played this spring. The Second nine during the past few days, has improved in both batting and fielding, but has fallen off noticeably in ability to bunt, and in the practice game played with the Freshmen yesterday their base-running was slow and careless.

The batting orders: SECOND NINE.  GROTON. Carpenter, l.f.  1b., Sturgis Greenough, r.f.  s.s., Sawyer Fischel, 1b.  2b., Hinchman Blatterman, c.f.  r.f., Crocker Parker, c.  l.f., Higginson Bolton, 3b:  c.f., Libbey Colby, s.s.  3b., Fay Tyler, 2b.  c., Hoppin Hammond, p.  p., Rose

The Second nine and Freshmen played a 5-inning practice game yesterday which resulted in a tie, the score being 4 to 4.
