The annual convention of the National Educational Association, of which President Eliot is president, will be held in Boston from July 6 to 10. Eight addresses will be given by officers in the University, as follows: by President Eliot, "The New Definition of the Cultivated Man," and "The Length of the Baccalaureate Course and Preparation for the Professional Schools:" by Professor Shaler, "Practical Methods in the Teaching of Geology;" by Professor G. P. Baker, "The Teaching of Argumentative Discourse in High Schools;" by Dr. D. W. Ross, "The Teaching of Art;" by Professor W. T. Porter of the Medical School, "Laboratory Teaching of Physiology;" by Professor Blake and Dr. Standish of the Medical School, "What Teachers Need to Know about Sense Defects and Impediments."
