The first game in the intercollegiate basketball schedule which was to have been played with Cornell at Ithaca last night, has been forfeited by Harvard on account of the decision of the Athletic Committee that only three games which will keep the team away from Cambridge over night will be allowed.
Practice for the University basketball team will begin again on Monday afternoon, January 4, at 5.30 o'clock and will continue every afternoon until the end of the playing season. A cut will probably be made shortly after the recess, but three or four teams will be kept during a considerable part of the season.
