Last Baseball Practice.

The baseball team yesterday had its last practice before the Yale game tomorrow. The work consisted of the usual batting at the nets, followed by long practice in batting on the regular diamond, with the substitutes in the field. MacDonald and C. J. Paine '97, were the pitellers did the catching. The nine did not hit well at first, both the pitchers being in good form. Very few men struck out, however, and later the batting was much better.

Captain Reld was out and took part in the practice for the first time since the Princeton game. He did only light work, but showed no falling off in his play on account of his absence from the game.

The day's work ended with sharp fielding practice. A number of different plays were run through, the men showing up fairly well in every case, though they seemed a little slow after their hard work of the last two days. The outfielders had a very thorough practice under W. H. Rand '98, and B. H. Hayes '98. They played very well, covering a great deal of ground, and being generally sure in their work.

The team will do no more work before Thursday's game, except the pitchers, who will merely warm up a little today to keep their arms in good condition.
