The University crews had light work yesterday. The order of McGrew's crew was left unchanged. In Bullard's crew, Bancroft was put back at stroke, and Phillips at two. The crew showed some improvement.
A change in the nature of the coaching yesterday marks an advance in the work of the crews. Previously Coach Higginson had been devoting most of his attention to perfecting the catch, and in this respect, both crews have shown marked improvement. Now, however, work on the finish of the stroke has begun. Special attention is given to keeping the blades buried at the end of the stroke, and finishing strongly.
The orders were as follows:
Stroke, McGrew; 7, Francis; 6, Swift; 5, Ayer; 4, Foster; 3, Gregg; 2, Smith; bow, James.
Stroke, Bancroft; 7, Bullard; 6, Shuebruk; 5, Colby; 4, Derby; 3, Dunbar; 2, Phillips; bow, Covel.
