The inventory of the estate of the late George Smith '53, of St. Louis, which has recently been sent to the Corporation by the executors, indicates that the amount which will come to the University will be about $250,000. It would seem likely, therefore, that seventeen or eighteen years must elapse before the three dormitories provided for can be erected, for the will directs that if the amount is less than $450,000, the fund must be allowed to accumulate until that amount is reached, before construction can begin.
