NEW YORK, March 28, 1902. -- The following matches in the preliminary round of the intercollegiate fencing tournament took place this evening at the New York Athletic Club: Cornell vs. Annapolis; West Point vs. Columbia; Harvard vs. Pennsylvania. For Harvard, Roberts won two and lost four bouts, Palfrey won three and lost three, Henderson lost four.

The second round will be held this afternoon, and the finals this evening.
