Fencing Team Wins New England Meet

The Harvard fencing team won the invitation team match of the New England division of the the Amateur Fencing League of America which was held in the gymnasium of the Boston Athletic Association on Saturday evening, thus winning the shield donated by the Boston Athletic Association. This prize is the first permanent trophy that has been won by a Harvard fencing team. The scores of the teams by bouts were as follows: Harvard, 13; Boston Athletic Association, 12; Boston Young Men's Christian Association, 2. H. Saint Gaudens '03 was a member of the Boston Athletic Association team. Each man fought six bouts. Of the Harvard team H. W. Holmes '03 won 5; T. D. Roberts '03, 5; and H. J. Elam 2L., 3.
