The Teachers' Conference, held Saturday morning at the invitation of Professor Hanus numbered about thirty head masters of private and endowed schools. The discussion was opened by President Eliot and was based chiefly upon the question: "What preparation should an intending teacher secure to promote his efficiency, and how may this preparation be best obtained." Luncheon was served to the party at 1 o'clock in the Union, after watch the conference was resumed and continued until about 4 o'clock. The discussion was valuable and good testimony was given by two or three of the masters concerning the efficiency of the courses in education at Harvard. Many important suggestions were brought forth at the meeting.
