Permission has been obtained for ten candidates for the University golf team to play at the Country Club, Brookline, previous to the Intercollegiate Tournament which begins two weeks from tomorrow. The men are: H. B. Hollins, U. A. Murdock, W. E. Egan, H. C. Egan, A. M. Brown, P. A. Proal, W. C. Chick, G. O. Winston, M. Richards, M.McBurney.
It has been found impossible to provide, for the present, a course for the remaining candidates. They will, however, be expected to enter if possible in the Myopia Open Tournament, the date of which has not yet been set, in the Agawam Open Handicap at Providence on Saturday, October 11, and in the two invitation events at Wollaston for October 16 and 17, a programme of which will be posted in the CRIMSON office in a few days.
In the spring all the candidates will be given an opportunity to practice, when besides the team matches, an interclass and a college tournament will be held.
