Garber Privately Tells Faculty That Harvard Must Rethink Messaging After GOP Victory
To the Editors of the Crimson:
A subscription was collected last year for the purchase of the "old" college bell. The amount of $73.00 was collected and turned over to the charge of the Memorial Society. This amount being insufficient, the purchase was delayed, and in the mean time it was discovered that the bell was really not an old one, and not deserving of the sentiment lavished upon it.
It is the belief of the Memorial Society, therefore, that it would be a foolish waste to spend the money, collected under a misapprehension of the facts, in this way.
Any men so wishing may receive back their subscriptions by applying to the treasurer of the Memorial Society, Mr. H. H. Murdock, before Commencement, June 26, 1901.
It was voted to deliver whatever sum should remain after that date to the Library Committee of the Harvard Union for the purchase of books. W. B. WHEELWRIGHT,
Secretary of the Harvard Memorial Society.
