Public School Examinations.

The examinations for teachers, in the New York public schools will be held at the Hall of the Board of Education, corner of Park avenue and 59th street, New York, on April 8 and 9, commencing at 9 a.m. The examinations will be on secondary subjects such as are taught in the grammar and high schools. Candidates who pass these examinations will be given a place on the "eligible list" and may be appointed to positions at any future time. College graduates without teaching experience may now secure licenses as junior teachers with an initial salary of $900 a year.
