At the meeting of the executive committee of the United States Lawn Tennis Association held in New York last Friday, the challenge of the English Lawn Tennis Association was accepted. Four British and four American players will meet on the St. George's Cricket Grounds at Hoboken, just before the national tournament at Newport, August 13.
R. D. Wrenn '95, a member of the executive committee of the U. S. L. T. A., said that he fancied that the American team would be picked from the following men: M. D. Whitman 2L., D. F. Davis '00, B. C. Wright '03, G. L. Wrenn '96, and W. A. Larned. R. H. Doherty, H. L. Doherty, G. W. Hilliard, and S. H. Smith will compose the English team. The contest will be for the D. F. Davis international trophy.
