Progress on the New Buildings.

The work on the new University buildings is being carried on as rapidly as the weather will allow. The walls of the Union are finished, the roof is slated, and the windows have recently been put in. The Infirmary and the Architectural Building are both nearing completion. Work on the outer and inner walls is ended and the iron girders for the floors are in place. The Infirmary will be heated by boilers in the basement of the structure itself. These have been put in and are being used during the cold weather in order that the interior work may go on without interruption. The Architectural Building will be heated from the boilers in Sever Hall; the connecting pipes have just been laid.

The addition to the University Museum is now four stories in height Rapid progress has been made during January. On the other hand, the work on the Engineering Building and the Semitic Museum has been very slow. Only the first story of the Museum has been built. Two stories of the Engineering Building have been completed, and iron trusses for the floors have been placed in position. The work on both is, however, still confined to the exterior, so that it is subject to frequent interruptions from cold weather.
