University Council Meeting.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The University Council will hold its first meeting for almost two years next Wednesday evening. The Council deals with matters which affect two or more of the Faculties, and in the nature of things does not come together often. The present meeting was called to arrange if possible a system of gowns and hoods for the Faculty, similar to the systems in use at Yale and many of the other colleges. The members of the Faculty wear gowns on Commencement and other formal occasions at Harvard as well as at other colleges, but they have no regular gown used by all. At this meeting the Council will probably assign a different gown to each of the classes which make up the Faculty.
