A New Medical School Site.

For a number of years the quarters now occupied by the Medical School have been too small to accommodate the growing numbers of students and the modern methods of laboratory study. The question of moving has been discussed for some time and now it is planned to bring together on one site all the different departments of the Medical, Dental and Veterinary Schools.

A number of gentlemen have purchased for the school the old Francis estate in Brookline, 26 acres in all, bounded by Longwood avenue, Huntington avenue and Francis street. Here, as funds are collected, the various buildings will be erected and the Medical, Dental and Veterinary Schools will each have its own quarters, with laboratories and a hospital. An appropriation for a School of Comparative Medicine has already been made from the H. L. Pierce bequest.

It is planned to merge the Faculties of the Schools into one Faculty, with one Dean. Each school, however, will be represented by an administrative board which will carry on the individual work of its department.
