The Freshman nine defeated Brown 1903 yesterday by a score of 6 to 2 in a close and interesting game. Both teams were weak at the bat, but the Freshmen had a slight advantage in the field. Comins pitched a steady game and was unusually effective with men on bases, especially in the seventh inning when he struck out two men in succession with the bases full. Story played the best all-round game, making three difficult foul catches and getting his base twice on skillful bunts. Jackson at shortstop was in poor form and made an error which was responsible for Brown's two runs.
