Weld Boat Club Notes

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

At the Weld Boat Club several repairs and renewals of equipment are now being made. All the single shells have been removed for repairs, and two canoes have been transferred to the Newell for the use of the members of that club. New canoe paddles have been bought, and six pairs of single oars have been ordered from Donoghue, the maker of the University crew oars. Another addition will be a life boat, the gift of the Massachusetts Humane Society. The silver cups for the Weld regatta of last fall will be ready for distribution in ten days. The new shingles are now on sale at Amee's book store. Pictures of last years graded crews have been hung on the stair-case.

Some time this week the two launches "John Harvard" and "Veritas" will race in the Basin in order to test their relative speed. After this trial the "Veritas" will be revarnished and painted.
