The Library has received the last shipment of the Riant collection. Of the present instalment of two thousand volumes over five hundred are on literary history. There are many French and Italian works of general literature and numerous books on the medeaeval orders of knighthood, especially on the Templars and the Knights of Malta. There is also a special collection of the writings of Tasso, comprising about thirty editions, which range from the year 1581 to the present time. Many of the books are handsomely bound in heavy leather and many are of very early date.
