Man Who Managed Clients for High-End Cambridge Brothel Network Pleads Guilty
The baseball team defeated Dartmouth yesterday in a well-contested game, the result being in doubt until the last of the sixth inning, when three bases on balls, an error and two hits netted for Harvard three runs. The two runs scored before that were home run hits to right field by Reid and Fincke. Dartmouth scored in the fifth on two hits, a base on balls and a long fly.
The fielding on both sides was remarkably sharp and accurate for a cold, raw day. The Harvard infield showed improvement in team work, and Clark and Coolidge each made several very pretty assists. The batting was very weak, but the men showed good judgement in waiting. The base-running showed good judgment but lacked the life and alertness which should characterize it. Kernan pitched well, keeping Dartmouth's hits well scattered, and showed great coolness in the fifth inning, when Dartmouth had the bases full with only one out.
Following is the score: Earned runs--Harvard 2. Two-base hit--Reid. Home runs--Reid, Fincke. Stolen bases--Kendall, Reid, Clark, McCarten, Abbott, Wentworth Double play--Hancock to Abbott. Bases on balls by Kernan: Varney; by Varney: Loughlin, Kendall, Fincke, Stillman. Hit by pitched ball--by Kernan: McCarten. Struck out--by Kernan: Brown; by Varney: Loughlin, Kendall 3, Coolidge 2, Ewer, Kernan 2. Passed ball--Reid. Sacrifice hits--Coolidge 2. Time--2h. 15m. Umpire--Miah Murray. This afternoon at 3 o'clock the nine will play the first game with Brown. Last year Brown defeated Harvard at Providence by 11 to 3, but lost the game here, 9 to 0. Of last year's Brown team two infielders and one outfielder remain. Eaton and Washburn both pitched against Harvard in the second game last year and were hit hard, but they have been doing good work this year, especially Washburn, who held Williams down to two hits last Wednesday. So far the Brown team has shown up very well, defeating Trinity by the score of 14 to 1, Amherst 34 to 4, and Williams 12 to 0. Brown lost to Holy Cross by the score of 5 to 2.
