The Justin Winsor Prize of $100 offered by the American Historical Association will be awarded this year to the writer of the best unpublished monograph, based on original investigation in American history, that shall be submitted to the committee on award on or before October 1, 1900. In making the award the committee will take into consideration not only clearness of expression, logical arrangement and literary form. The successful essay will be published by the American Historical Association. All correspondence should be addressed to the chairman of the committee, Charles M. Andrews, Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.
